The members of SVL, also known as SeVinLi, have announced their decision to go on an indefinite hiatus, bringing their activities as a group to a temporary halt after 5 years. StarBust Enterprises (StarBust) stated on the 20th, "After extensive discussions, the group has amicably decided that SVL, as it stands, needs time to consider its future as a duo." StarBust continued, "Until a unanimous decision is reached about the group's direction, we will not renew their contract."
Who are SVL?
SVL is the flagship girl group for StarBust that most famously consisted of a triad of multi-faceted idols—leader and main vocalist Bang Sera (21), vocalist Youvin (20), and rapper Jang Irene (21). Since their formation in 1997, they have garnered over 3.6 million sales through a little more than five albums. In addition, they have made a foray into overseas promotion in Japan.
Catch-up
Earlier today, it was announced that Jang Irene would be leaving the Heavenly sisterhood to pursue her long-awaited solo music and acting career. Irene wishes the group's fandom, Friend, supports her in her journey to the silver screen. Like the two remaining members, she is still discussing with StarBust over a possible individual multi-talent contract. If she successfully re-signs with the entertainment agency, she will join as one of the few "triple-threat" entertainers under the company.
Sera, Youvin and StarBust are set to have another formal meeting regarding group contract negotiations in the next few hours. You will be kept updated with live coverage until then.
